Part-time Event and Marketing Manager (20-30 hours)

Plans, directs, and implements marketing, communications, and events for the Atlantic Avenue Business Improvement District.

Working with the Executive Director and the event/marketing committee of the board to create the BID marketing/event plan. The focus of all marketing and events is to increase customer foot traffic in the district.  Efforts will include advertising and/or public relations to support the overall marketing of the district.

Ensuring that the key target messages of Always More to Explore permeate all print and electronic media placements. Also, ensuring that the district is developing niche, target audiences and successfully targeting them with communications.

Conceptualizing and implementing successful events to cover as many business groupings as possible including: fashion, wedding, furniture + home, antiques, gifts, restaurants, bars, kids, food, beauty and more.

Identifying and securing sponsorship to enhance the event budget and give each event the support it needs to be successful.

Manages logistics of all BID events.

Drafting and distributing press releases for the BID and BID members. Obtaining positive media coverage from the local and city-wide media on a regular basis. Obtaining national media coverage several times per year.

Manages production, distribution, and promotion of BID publications including the shopping guide, event posters, and programs.

Contributes to a monthly merchant newsletter and bi-monthly board updates.

Works closely with the Executive Director and interns to incorporate all BID members into events and BID marketing activities.

Supervises updates of the BID website and banners.

Measures the success of marketing activities through surveys, research, etc.

Additional duties may be assigned by the Executive Director.
